Ask a QuestionYangshuo, coming into a county in the 10th year in Sui Dynasty (A. D. 590), is situated to the South of Guilin city, 65 kilometers away from Guilin by land and 83 kilometers by water. Under Guilin's jurisdiction, it is a county covering an area of 1428.38 square kilometers with a population of 298,000. There are 10 little towns with all together 114 villages in the whole county.
The well known saying, "Guilin is the most beautiful city of natural scenery in the world, but next to Yangshuo" manifests the importance of Yangshuo's natural landscape in the world tourism. Yangshuo has the sub-tropical monsoon climate, with temperate weather all the year round. It has the most typical karst topography, with abruptly standing hills spotted everywhere within the county. The hills are of various shapes. Some look like utensils, some like men or animals. The hills are covered with evergreen forest of trees and bamboos. Each hill has caves, and each cave is fantastic with sparkling and crystal-clear stalactites taking peculiar shapes. The rivers in Yangshuo are green and clear in dreaming flow.
The river is a blue silk ribbon, the peaks are hairpins of jade.' This is the best description of Yangshuo's scenery written by Han Yu, the famous literary writer in Tang Dynasty.
The landscape in Yangshuo is famous for its green hills, clear waters, peculiar peaks, and fantastic caves. It is the essence of the beautiful Guilin scenery. Yangshuo is a large garden county possessing rich natural and humane tourist resources.
【Li River】
There are more than twenty thousand hills and 16 rivers winding through them, with the world famous Li River inclusive.
In the traditional sense, Lijiang starting point is the source of Guijiang River Yuecheng Mountain Range Cat Mountain, and the end point is Pingle Sanjiang River. Lijiang river section is164 km long.Along the riverbed, there are most of water quality pebbles, the river has small sediment loads so the water is clear. On both sides of the river is karst landform. Li River is rich in tourism resources, and the famous landscape of Guilin is in Li River.
【Yangshuo West Street】
West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo with a history of more than 1,400 years. It now becomes a place that mixes the eastern and western culture harmoniously.
Yangshuo West Street, is a pedestrian street of Yangshuo county, Guilin city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is located in Yangshuo town center, about 8 meters wide, 800 meters long, slightly presents the east-west orientation, the east side is to the Binjiang road, west to Pantao road, and meets the Xianqian street, Chengzhong road in the middle. After 1400 years, it is the busiest and the oldest street in Yangshuo, and also one of important tourist attractions in Yangshuo.
【Moon Hill】
Moon Hill, a great limestone peak with a naturally created moon-shaped cavern passing through just below its summit
The Moon Hill was a spectacle of Yangshuo, and it is located in the aside the Fenglou Village of Gaotian Township, up to more than 380 meters high. Moon Hill is located in end of the Ten-Miles Gallery Scenic Spot. Here the beautiful scenery is simple but elegant of primitive simplicity, quiet and comfortable.
【Big Banyan Tree】
It is said to have a history of nearly 1,400 years and has survived centuries of wind and rain. Yangshuo Big Banyan Tree is located in the Moon Hill Scenic Area of Yangshuo County and it is a thousand years old tree. Its circumference is unexpectedly 7 meters long, 17 meters high, leafy with thick shade, and its leaves can shade more than one hundred square meters. Big Banyan Tree is a famous scenic spot of Yangshuo, Guilin.
【Yulong River】
Yulong River is as beautiful as Li River. A lot of other places of historic interest and scenic beauty, together with all the above-mentioned, contribute to the worldwide fame of Yangshuo as a scenic spot.
Yulong River is a river in Yangshuo county, refers to the section of Baisha to the Big Banyan Tree Gongnong Bridge, about 16 kilometers long, 38 to 61 meters wide, 0.5 to 2 meters deep. On both sides of the Yulong River, the mountains and peaks are delicate and pretty remarkable, stretching for miles with all shapes. The riverbank is green like grass, lush bamboo, and numerous shady trees. The water in a river is like a green jade, clean and bright.

The show of Impression Liu Sanjie can be regarded as one highlight of Yangshuo tour. It is a night show which you’ve never seen. The show of Impression Liu Sanjie is directed by domestic famous director Mr Zhang Yimou. This is a virtual scenery performance. The largest difference from other shows is the water & hill scenery theater. The show is created according to a well-known folk tale of Zhuang, about the Queen of Folk Song in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

There are a lot of delicious cuisines in China. If you want to try the Chinese dishes by yourself, it is good to take the Chinese cooking course in Yangshuo. People who join in the course will be picked up and you will be taken to the local market to learn about the ingredients that we use in our dishes. Then drive to the school in the local farmer's courtyard and learn how to cook five Chinese dishes. After the cooking, eat the meal together and informally explore Chinese culture and customs.
