It is located near the town of Hongqiao in Changning District, 13 kilometers in west of downtown Shanghai. Hongqiao Airport is a hub for China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Juneyao Airlines and Spring Airlines. It is the 4th busiest airport in mainland China.

There are two terminals in Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. Terminal 1 usually homes the international flights (usually international flights to Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong), while Terminal 2 homes the domestic flights
►Terminal 1
Terminal 1 is the oldest terminal in the airport. It consists of Zone A and Zone B with a total area os about 82,000 square meters (about 20.3 acres). There are 15 waiting halls, 18 VIP lounges and 15 baggage transfer belts.

By Metro: Metro Line 10 has been extended to reach Hongqiao Airport Terminal 1; Metro Line 2 and Line 10 have been extended to Hongqiao International Airport T2 (Line 2 cannot reach T1)
By Bus: there are many shuttle buses traveling between Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Shanghai Railway Station, the Bund area, Shanghai Pudong airport and some other sites in Shanghai.
