Tour Details

Be picked up at your Suzhou hotel lobby in the morning, then depart for Tongli Water Town to visit the Garden of Seclusion and Meditations, Scenic Spot of Three-Hall and the Three-Bridge and the Shopping Street in Ming and Qing-Dynasty style, and then visit the Former Residence of Chen Qubing and have a roat ride on water ways.Tongli is an old but very well preserved water township with a history of more than 1,000 years. Built in the Ming and Qing dynasties, it encloses 5 lakes and 15 canals dividing the town into 7 islands which are connected by 20 ancient bridges of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Chinese lunch is arrange at a local restaurant along the waterway.


Tongli Water Town

In the afternoon, drive back to the downtown of Suzhou and continue a visit to Humble Administrators Garden, the best representation of Chinese classical gardens of the Ming Dynasty. Its design is duplicated in many gardens throughout China, and there is even a replica in the New York Metropolitan Museum. Then move to Suzhou New Museum, a highly-regarded regional museum with a number of significant Chinese cultural relics. Before back to hotel, we will have a stop at No. 1 Silk Factory, where you will have chance to see a display of the life-cycle of the silk worm and demonstrations of how the silk is harvested from the cocoons and eventually woven into fabric. Tour finishes by drop-off at the hotel.
